While out walking one day, we noticed Brad Skilling working on a driveway in our cul-de-sac. We were intending to refinish our driveway and so started talking to him about his work. He was extremely informative and came to our house to show us pictures of other work he had done. The jobs looked wonderful, so we hired him. He came promptly when he said he would and did a an efficient, professional job. There was never any mess around the site and he took extra care around our flower beds, which we really appreciated. He did a wonderful job, and even suggested adding a small amount of color to the sealer to enhance the property.We are very pleased with the final result, and would recommend him to our friends. In fact, we have!

I would like to thank Brad for an amazing repair to the entrance and exit to my barn. Over the years these pads had taken a beating and last winter Mother Nature finally added the finishing touches and I had cracks everywhere. I was told by two contractors that I would have to break up the slabs and replace them, but I decided to to get a third opinion. I asked Google and low and behold, the first name that popped up was Crack or Jack, and after talking to Brad I knew I was on the right track, after all “SKILL” was part of his last name. Two years ago, we checked Shell Busey’s website in search of a company to re-finish and re-seal our extensive patio area which consists of stamped concrete and exposed aggregate. We were very pleased to find the most wonderful, the most competent, the most charming and the most reliable person whom we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with; Brad, the Crackman. Brad Skilling approached our project with professionalism from the very beginning, giving us a detailed quote, firm start date, and a complete description of what he would have to do and why. Because our stamped concrete wraps around our pool and because the pool wraps around the house in a circular fashion, he even had to enter the unheated pool to complete the job!!! The project was completed in time, Brad checked back several times during the summer to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, and he even came back and etched small drain in the concrete so the rain water would run off more effectively, all without extra charge. Brad is extremely neat, works efficiently, and is probably the most pleasant person we have engaged since moving to Langley six years ago. If we have a question, he not only answers us by phone, but he also drops by in person later on to make sure we are happy. We could just not ask for more. This year, we had the sealant and tinting re-applied and, once again, we are totally satisfied with the work Brad has done for us. Over the last two years, he has been so willing to share tips on how better to maintain our patio and driveway, in addition to the countless hours he has spent giving us very welcome advice regarding new products on the market so that we are better able to maintain our property. All in all, our experience with Brad has been extremely positive one and we would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone – and everyone.

We then hired him the following year to clean and seal our aggregate driveway and front patio. His price was extremely fair and the job was 10/10. I met with Brad, the owner, to discuss the job. He was extremely nice and told me that the work would be easy to accomplish. Ross came by to work on my driveway. He was also extremely nice and worked diligently. We are very happy with the results and recommended him to our neighbour, who has a sunken garage floor. Brad will be coming back when the weather warms up to repair a large crack in the walkway by the front door. If his crack repair is half as good as the concrete lifting we will be happy.

We had installed an exposed aggregate concrete patio and walkway about 20 years ago. They were both tilting so we called for an estimate to get them leveled. We were advised that the patio was okay for now, and I appreciated the honesty. The walkway was raised (by as much as a foot on one end) and is now level. I first became aware of this company by seeing their vehicle around town in Langley. I was in the process of getting my house ready for selling and when we emptied the garage, I noticed a bunch of cracks. I was concerned that this might affect the sale of my house so I phoned Brad and even though he was busy he dropped by the next day to view my problem. I also had cracks in my driveway as well. He was a wealth of knowledge and showed me how I could tell that the garage cracks were just the result of normal settling and the driveway cracks were caused from not having enough relief cracks installed when the house was originally built. He was up front and told me that I didn’t need to do anything about the garage and the driveway cracks could be filled however, as that driveway was not exposed aggregate, the repair would be visible. As there weren’t any structural problems we did not proceed. Shortly after this meeting, we sold our house and moved out to the valley. This house had an exposed aggregate driveway with a lot of cracks in it as well as a cement stairwell that was leaning away from the house and a garage floor that was sinking. We also discovered a small crack in the foundation after we removed some drywall in the basement. I then called Brad to come and see this house and he made arrangements to see our house the next time he was out seeing clients in our area – which was fine with us. He then came and gave us a quote, explained to us why we had these problems and how we could take some preventive steps to stop them from happening again in the future. He gave us a verbal approximation of the cost and then followed up with an emailed quote, and we decided to proceed. As it was getting close to fall, the timing of our job was based on if the weather was warm enough to proceed. Fortunately, we did get enough dry days in for Brad to complete our job. I cannot say enough about the quality of workmanship, the professionalism, the courtesy shown, and the amount of knowledge that I gained through this experience. The finished job has resulted in all of the driveway and walkway cracks being filled, the stairs returned to the position they were in when originally built, the garage floor back to where it should be, and the crack in the foundation was repaired. We are extremely pleased with the results and were very impressed with Brad. I would highly recommend him for any concrete repairs and if I had another house with the same problem I would definitely use his services again.
